Professional photographers generally don’t show images directly out of the camera without doing some sort of image correction or enhancement beforehand. Myself included. There are many reasons for this (but that’s for another blog post).

However, I’m going to show one example so you can see the difference, which applies to this image only. Every image is unique.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT Hemi is the epitome of the American Muscle Car. It’s one sexy automobile. I want to thank the lovely Katarina for modelling and Ryan for supplying the Challenger. Though the final image looks like it should be part of an advertising campaign to be seen in magazines and what not, it’s from their engagement session. The BEFORE:

Info: This original image of a Dodge Challenger SRT Hemi was captured using only available light late mid-afternoon. We didn't have a lot of time, as in only a few minutes. I had a lot of things to think about during the shoot: location, position of the car, direction of the sun, background, composition and how I wanted to position the model. Relationship of my camera to the subject and to the available light; that kind of thing. What type of image did I want this to be?

Sexy: Katarina, Ryan and the Dodge Challenger SRT

When Ryan called me yesterday asking what colour of the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hemi 6.3 I wanted for today’s shoot, the first word that came to mind was: Sexy.

Not only is this icon of the American muscle car a stunner, so is Katarina, who will become his wife this July. She’s tall, too at 5′ 11.5″ and pointed out that I’m a full half inch taller than her, until she puts heels on. Ryan is 6′ 3″. I’ll never be taller than him because I don’t wear heels. Except. maybe. on. Halloween.

And, as I started shooting their engagement session, I realized that Ryan has a hell of a baby face. Needless to say, it was a great shoot.
