ABOUT DEAN
Prior to becoming a full-time professional photographer, Dean Oros was a film producer, director and distributor for 18 years. Titles he produced have been sold to over 125 countries and become award winners, including the NFB’s Best Documentary in Canada.

“I travelled internationally a lot for my work, and during downtime I would photograph the people I met, and the places where ever I happened to be. Over the years I began kicking myself for not always having a camera with me. I was constantly witnessing moments and stories that I felt should be captured. It was a decision combined with being compelled to develop my eye and craft that I become a photographer. No script. No sound.”

Since then, Dean has been creating artful lifestyle imagery complemented with custom, fine-art albums & books.

Dean has a sincere interest in the role of the photographer and the business of photography in Canada. He has been a member of CAPIC since 2007.

ARTISTIC GUILD OF THE WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALIST ASSOCIATION
Dean is a member of the [AG] WPJA (Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association), which is a group of international wedding photojournalists who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, excel in the art of image interpretation and post production enhancement. The [AG] WPJA specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism worldwide. Dean is one of thirteen photographers in Ontario to have been accepted.
